Some news

So it’s been a very long time since a podcast. A very large portion of that is on me. We’ve had multiple illnesses (pneumonia, upper respiratory infection and stomach bugs) go through the Cochran household. Plus, I believe I’ve mentioned before, my wife went back to work full time for the first time in 8 years. We were just about to get used to the schedule and how everything was going to work……and then the rug got pulled out. The school district decided that there weren’t enough kids at my wife’s school to justify that many kindergarten classes. So they decided to send my wife to a different school and she’s now teaching 3rd grade.

Yeah…..that was a lot of fun. We’re finally starting to get settled down and comfortable with everything again. So AtC and I talked the other day and agreed we needed to buckle down and get back on the podcast horse. You’ll be seeing new episodes from us shortly.

In other news, someone has made a grave, grave mistake. Success!

PLAYOFFS!!!!

Alright folks, it’s October. That means playoffs and we got a lot of games in a short amount of time already. Let’s dive straight in, shall we?
AL Wild Card Play-In
The Houston Astros (yes, you read that right) beat the New York Yankees 3-0 to advance. Astros pitcher Dallas Keuchel, pitching on 3 days rest, threw 6 shut out innings. Sipp, Harris and Gregerson each went 1 to complete the shutout. The Astros move on to face Kansas City.
NL Wild Card Play-In

Cubs vs Pirates. Yup. Cubs vs Pirates. The Pirates never really had a chance here. Arrieta was dominant in a complete game shutout. 9 innings. 11 K’s. 5 hits. 0 walks. 0 runs. Thanks for coming. Cubs head to take on division rival St. Louis.

Drift Compatible Podcast Episode 23

We are back! We’re back and recording on Labor Day. Even though many other, unnamed, podcasts are taking off for the holiday weekend…we are not. (Never you mind that we weren’t around last week.)

So this week Alex and I are focusing on just a couple topics. We’re sharing our opinions on The Clerk. We also get into the refugee/immigrant crisis in Europe and our inability to actually get ahold of facts on pretty much any and every topic.

As always, we ended the podcast with some book/movie/entertainment discussion.

Hope you enjoy.

Books

Cod by Mark Kurlansky

When the Killing’s Done by TC Boyle

Drift Compatible Podcast Episode 22

That’s right….TWO WEEKS IN A ROW!!

Although this week is a bit abbreviated. And by that I mean half it’s normal length. Nasty thunderstorms rolling through my area precluded us from recording over the weekend and I have limited time during the week.

However, even in the shortened time span we managed to hit multiple topics.

This week we talk Puppies, Hillary’s email, Joe Biden and the impending/ongoing economic sh*tstorm. Oh and some books/tv shows/movies.

Hope you enjoy!

Books

The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien

Movies

John Wick

Drift Compatible Podcast Ep21

We’re back!

After far too much time off due to all sorts of reason, AtC and I are finally back and recording again.

This time around we discussed my impressions of the candidates from the RedState Gathering, who actually are the RINOs, Hillary’s email and, of course, a few books.

I hope you enjoy.

PS – We’re on Stitcher now!

PPS – In case you’re new…LANGUAGE WARNING. Alex and I don’t censor. At all. So if that bothers you, go no further.

Podcasts, Apologies and a Redstate Gathering

Hello my friends, it is I, your recently absent podcast host. I know it’s been a while and I wanted to give y’all an update on what’s been going on.

Due to personal stuff, work stuff, travel stuff and all kinds of other stuff, Alex and I just haven’t been able to get together and crank out a couple hours of swearing about whatever the news of the day is. Trust me, we’re not happy about it. We enjoy recording the episodes and the fact that we haven’t been able to do so in several weeks pleases neither of us.

I wanted to let y’all know that we’re still here, the podcast is still here and we’re going to be recording new episodes soon. In the meantime, I figured I’d give everyone my impressions of the Redstate Gathering in general and the candidates that spoke there in particular. If you’re interested, keep on reading.

Podcast/Upgrades/Etc

Morning folks, unfortunately there will not be a podcast again this week.

I’m still dealing with trying to get everything set up with the podcast. Apparently, when Stitcher says “You’ll hear back from us within 5 business days” what they mean is “You’ll hear back from us 5 business days from now”. Subtle difference, but a difference nonetheless.

In addition to that, I got hit with a really nasty stomach bug this weekend. Kind of hard to do a podcast when you’re running back and forth to the bathroom.

Now the good news, the next podcast should be full of good content. On Thursday I’m headed up to Atlanta for the RedState Gathering. Quite a few of the Republican Presidential candidates are slated to speak. (Walker, Fiorina, Jindal, Perry, Bush, Rubio, Huckabee, Cruz) Also speaking are Gov Nikki Haley, Jim DeMint from Heritage, Ed Morrissey and Mary Katherine Ham from Hot Air, Katie Pavlich and Guy Benson from Townhall, Bob Owens from Bearing Arms and a whole host of other people from Twitchy to AEI to the Foundation for Government Accountability to PJ Media to…..well, you get the point.

Lots of folks, lots of candidates, lots of content. I’m excited to see and hear the candidates in person. I think you get a far better measure of someone when you’re actually physically there, as opposed to watching them on tv.

Again, apologies on the lack of podcasts recently. The idea, the goal, is to come back better than before. Easier to access, easier to listen to and with loads of good content. Who knows….maybe we can even wrangle in a guest or two.

Podcast

FUCK iTUNES.

That is all.

Ok, that’s not all. iTunes decided it wanted to treat me like a bitch. After two days of that, I finally said forget it. I’ve submitted our podcast to Stitcher, which is the same service the HQ podcast uses. I should know in a couple days if we’ve been approved.
